Sunday Morning Discovery Classes - 9:45 a.m.

Beginning in January of 2020, we embark on an exciting journey in our Sunday morning Discovery classes and sermons that will lead us through the whole of Scripture. The title is “Casket Empty: God’s Plan for Redemption through History.”  CASKET EMPTY points to the life, death, and resurrection of the Messiah as the center of the biblical story. The title is an acronym with each letter representing a key period in God’s redemptive story.  It is a mnemonic device to help us remember these key periods.

CASKET: C - Creation, A - Abraham, S - Sinai, K - Kings, E - Exile, T - Temple) which is reversed by Christ’s resurrection

EMPTY: E - Expectations, M - Messiah, P - Pentecost, T - Teaching, Y - Yet to Come). It is the story of the entire Bible simply explained with Jesus at its center.

CASKET EMPTY also shows the downward slope of sin which leads to death (CASKET) which is reversed by Christ’s resurrection (EMPTY). It is the story of the entire Bible simply explained with Jesus at its center.
