BOOK REVIEW WITH DR. AUPPERLE

When Character Was King by Peggy Noonan is a marvelous biography of Ronald Reagan. It begins with his childhood, moving to early adulthood when he was a member of the Screen Actors Guild. It reaches a crescendo with his rise in political power in California and ultimately the nation. Peggy Noonan captures his honesty, persistence and patience which captured the heart of America. It is a mixture of affection and insight which brings alive this man who emerged from Hollywood, to his days on television, to his political legacy.
